Workplace Charging Scheme
Summary
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a UK government grant that eligible businesses can use to reduce the costs of installing electric vehicle (EV) chargepoints at workplaces.
- The scheme covers up to 75% of the total costs for purchasing and installing EV chargepoints, inclusive of VAT
- Up to 40 sockets across all sites per applicant and a maximum of £350 per chargepoint socket
- The scheme is open to businesses, charities, public sector organisations, and small accommodation businesses across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
- All chargepoints must be installed by an Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) authorised installer.
- The scheme is open from 1 April 2022 and will close on 31 March 2025.

What is the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)?
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a UK government initiative that offers financial support to eligible organisations to install electric vehicle (EV) chargepoints at workplaces.
- The scheme covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (including VAT)
- The scheme is capped at a maximum of £350 per socket and 40 sockets across all sites per applicant
- The WCS scheme is open to eligible businesses, charities, public sector organisations and small accommodation businesses

How do I know if I'm eligible?
You can apply for this scheme if:
- your eligible business is based in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland
- you own the property or have consent from the landlord to install EV chargepoints at the site
- you must have sufficient off-street parking used solely by your staff or fleet, not for customer use
- you must have parking spaces that are suitable for EV chargepoint installations.
- you should have your site surveyed by an installer before you apply for the grant
- you must use an OZEV-authorised installer
